I have experience in mixed methods research, building virtual learning environments in higher education, workshop facilitation in museums, galleries and other contexts, and teaching in schools and universities. I am passionate about fostering collaborative, engaging learning environments to explore, create, experiment and develop transferable skills.
I recently completed an ESRC-funded PhD studentship entitled The Secret Lives of Digital Museum Resources and Collections: Pedagogical Practice and Interactions with the Smithsonian’s Learning Lab, a collaborative research project with the University of Leicester and Smithsonian Office of Educational Technology. My research interests include the pedagogical uses of digital museum collections, the role of digital platforms in user curation and instructional design practices, creative uses of museums’ open content, and the role of interactive tools in scaffolding learning with digital museum objects.
I graduated from UCL’s History of Art MA in 2015 and prior to that studied a BA in Comparative Literature at King’s College London. I have also undertaken a Primary PGCE with Oxford Brookes and have full QTS status. I have experience of working for universities, museums, schools, community arts organisations, publishing/media companies and charities.
I also enjoy developing my creative skills on an ongoing basis, including drawing, printmaking, photography, writing, film and radio production.
My professional training includes:
- How to Curate a Public Events Programme (Whitechapel Gallery, 13th July 2018)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Library and Information Services Management (University of Sheffield, 2017-2018)
- Socially Engaged Arts Projects (Node Center for Curatorial Arts, Berlin, May 2016)
- Creating Successful Schools Programmes (Museums Association, Apr 2015)
- Trinity Certificate in TESOL (2012)
